How did JBOD Suppliers start out in 1999?

JBOD Suppliers started out in 1999, about one month before the Millennium, as a simple website hosting provider for the customised automotive scene in the midlands, UK. Using a shared hosting plan from a web host that is now long gone, and by splitting up the shared-hosting reseller package into smaller hosting packages, we started out with by hosting websites and forums related to car accessory and parts shops, to community-driven forums about specific car brands, and even a mobile phone store when a good phone was a small phone. A Motorola V3688 or Nokia 8850 for example. Brilliant phones back then. And brilliant hosting back then also.

Moving through the millennium as fast as light, the country adopted the global standard of installing fibre-optic cables across the country for business and residential use.

This meant accessing data in America was just as quick as accessing your data on your other drive on your PC, server ‘cluster’ hosting then became rebranded as cloud storage and meant that the big few, Microsoft, Apple,  Google, Amazon and a few others, could be your new location for photos and videos, and music files, and your device – which when the iPhone and Android came about, was now a mobile phone as powerful as a PC – could access these at light-speed using fibre-optic cables routed throughout the globe.

During this time we built a few forums for the construction industry which took off, by 2010 we had several with millions of unique visitors per month each, and one (Tilers Forums) had so many bathroom and tile images, we needed bigger and better hosting….
